Birth Control
Birth control is not available at the Mansfield/Ontario/Richland County Health Department. Please visit Planned Parenthood.

Pregnancy Tests
Pregnancy tests are given at our health clinic by appointment only.  You will see a registered nurse and you will be asked to give a urine sample.  Results of the test are given while you are here.  If you choose, we will help you make an appointment to begin prenatal care in our clinic.

Sexually Transmitted Infections
Tests for sexually transmitted infections are given at the Public Health Clinic by appointment.  If you are a minor, a parent does not have to accompany you.  Tests are confidential.  A nurse will ask you questions about your health and then you will see a doctor.  Blood will be drawn and a culture taken as part of the first visit.  Results of your tests will be available in two weeks and you will be called if further treatment is needed.  The cost is based on income, but there is a minimum charge of $5.00.

The Mansfield-Richland County Health Department provides educational speakers on HIV/AIDS and STDs to local schools, clubs, and organizations.  This is a free service.  To schedule a speaker, please call 774-4543.

HIV Testing
HIV testing is done by walk-in each Monday (except holidays) from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m., or by appointment.  Testing is anonymous (no name is given) and confidential and requires two visits.  An oral or blood test can be done.  You will be asked to return in approximately two weeks for the test result.  No results will be given over the phone.  There is no charge for an HIV test.  You must be a parent's permissions unless you are under age 13.  If your test is positive, case management is available to assist you.
