Last Chance Flu Clinics Added
November 8, 2011
The Health Department has added three "last chance" flu clinics.
"It's not too late to get a flu shot," says Mary Derr, Public Health Nursing Supervisor at the Mansfield/Ontario/Richland County Health Department. "Flu season typically peaks in February so vaccinations given through the holiday season and beyond are well worth the effort."
All three additional clinics will be held in the Health Department's Corley Room (lower level, back parking lot) at 555 Lexington Avenue in Mansfield.
The dates are:
- Tuesday, November 15 from 2 to 6 p.m.
- Tuesday, November 22 from 2 to 6 p.m.
- Saturday, December 3 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Flu shots will also be available by appointment in November and December through Public Health Nursing. Call 419-774-4540 for an appointment.
"No one wants to be sick during the holidays," Derr said. "Getting a flu shot for yourself and your children is a gift of good health you'll appreciate. Catch the holiday spirit, not the flu."
Flu shots are $10 for children 18 and under and some may qualify for the nasal spray vaccine. Medicare/Medicaid is accepted. Children less than 18 must be accompanied by a parent/legal gaurdian. Adult flu shots (Age 19 and above) are $22. Please bring your driver's license to speed processing.
