Special Veterans Promotion: All Veterans and/or Veteran’ Spouses Free of Charge
AARP DRIVER SAFETY PROGRAM ADDS CLASS ON NOVEMBER 14
Mansfield, Ohio — Due to popular demand, the Mansfield/Ontario/Richland County Health Department has added a second AARP Driver Safety Program class that will be free for all veterans and/or veteran’ spouses. The additional class will be November 14.
“We were overwhelmed by the response for the November 7 class and filled the 25 available spots in 10 days,” said Reed Richmond, co-instructor for the course. “It was just the right thing to do to add a second class. We were happy the Health Department could accommodate us.”
AARP Driver Safety Program is the nation’s first and largest classroom refresher course for motorists age 50 and older. The free class for veterans is part of a nationwide promotion from AARP to recognize and thank veterans for their dedication and service. To receive the free classroom course, participants should present some form of military identification (examples: discharge papers, American Legion/VFW card, dependent ID, etc.).
The November 14 class will be held at the Mansfield/Ontario/Richland County Health Department, 555 Lexington Avenue in Mansfield (Corley Room, lower level parking lot). The class is from at 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Coffee and refreshments will be provided.
Auto insurance discounts may be available for completing the class (check with your agent).
Cost for the class for non-veterans is $12 for AARP members and $14 for all others. Class size is limited but walk-ins are welcome if there are openings.
Call the Mansfield/Ontario/Richland County Health Department at 419-774-4544 to register.
