virusH1N1 Flu Virus

— There are still no confirmed cases of H1N1 in Richland County. There are 108 confirmed cases in Ohio (as of 12 p.m., 7/1/09) 6 probable cases and 25 suspected cases.
The Mansfield/Ontario/Richland County Health Department continues to monitor the situation with our local emergency response partners within the guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Ohio Department of Health (ODH).
All 50 states as well at Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and the District of Columbia are reporting cases with 27,717 cases confirmed. There have been 127 U.S. deaths from the virus (updated at 7:30 p.m., June 25, 2009. Note: the CDC is only updating numbers on Fridays).
According to the World Health Organization, 116 countries or territories are reporting cases with 77,201 individuals confirmed and 332 deaths world-wide. Of those deaths, 127 are from the United States and 116 from Mexico.

The Richland County Safe Communities Coalition warns that officers will be out in full force during the Fourth of July holiday period, cracking down on drunk drivers with an aggressive "Drunk Driving. Over the Limit. Under Arrest" enforcement blitz. Click HERE for the full story.
